The current generation of MacBook Pro’s are powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors. At CES 2010 last month, Intel officially unveiled Core i5 and Core i7 processors for the first time for portable computers. PwnageTool 3.1.5 for creating iPhone 3.1.3 custom ipsw files is now LIVE! The infamous iPhone Dev-Team has updated their PwnageTool for Mac to make it compatible with the new iPhone 3.1.3 firmware. This latest version of PwnageTool can jailbreak the original iPhone (Edge/2G), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS(older bootrom only with baseband 04.26.08) and iPod touch (1G and 2G non-MC model; 2G should also be pre-jailbroken) running on iPhone firmware 3.1.3. The custom .ipsw firmware files created with PwnageTool can update iPhone to firmware 3.1.3 without updating its baseband so that it can be unlocked to run on any carrier SIM. If you previously relied on blacksn0w unlock for iPhone 3GS, then this is NOT for you. iPod touch 3G is also currently not supported.

George Hotz (aka geohot) has confirmed via his twitter account today that his blackra1n and blacksn0w tools are currently not compatible with the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware. This new firmware brings 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G which restricts jailbreaking and unlocking on newer devices.

Ingenious tipsters at Engadget, have discovered yet another fascinating fact deep inside the Frameworks of the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK, namely: the codename of the next iPhone. It was discovered buried deep inside the platform simulator set of folders dedicated to specific models of iPhone OS-ready devices, including the iPhone 3GS, second generation iPod touch, something that was called the “K48″ (the codename was the internal name for the iPad), and… the “N89.” Sure, it sounds like a Nokia phone just waiting to happen. No this is not Nokia but this according to extremely knowledgeable and trusted sources, is the likely codename of the next iPhone (previous versions were called the M68, N82, and N88).
